Known as the “city of churches”, Adelaide is a beautiful well planned city, allowing you to take in a great many sights in a day.
Savour the treats on offer at its Central Market, the city’s fresh food centre. You can talk to the producers and take a guided tour to learn about the fresh, specialty, locally grown produce that includes cheese, organic fruit and veggies, pastries, butchers and so much more.
Then take in the galleries, museums and colonial buildings of North Terrace, Adelaide’s cultural boulevard. Rundle Street has a great selection of wine bars, boutiques, art house cinemas and elegant restaurants to explore.
For a relaxed stroll, visit fragrant rose gardens in Rymill Park, see the art-deco Palm House in the Botanic Gardens or cycle alongside the Torrens River in Linear Park. In the evening, dine along fashionable Gouger, O’Connell and Melbourne Streets. Or see a performance of theatre, opera, dance, cabaret or comedy at the Adelaide Festival Centre on North Terrace.
