Think electricity is boring? At Lumo Energy, we love new and exciting things and with the rise of social media, companies are coming up with new and exciting ways to engage customers. We have found some great ideas relating to energy companies and thought we’d share them with you.
Vattenfall is a leading energy company in Europe which has recently launched a campaign to help clients reduce their energy bills by being social. How does that work? Vattenfall noticed that a lot of people in Europe live alone and dine alone. In order to reduce the amount of energy used when cooking a dish, Vattenfall encourages people to cook for their neighbours. The more people you have over for dinner, the bigger the discount on your energy invoice. Watch the video to learn more about how the campaign works.
This next idea comes from students studying at the Berghs School of Communication in Sweden. The students came up with a marketing campaign for an energy company in Sweden – Fortum. By opening a Fortum gym (Fortum Active), clients are able to produce their own energy. The more you use the gym, the more energy you create and the bigger the discount is on your energy invoice.
